About Haridwar :

Haridwar is a holy city in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand which is very popular among Sanatanis. Haridwar is mainly made up of two words Hari(God) and Dwar which means door of God. River Ganga enters the plains from Haridwar itself. To visit Chardham (Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath) of Uttarakhand, one has to come to Haridwar first. Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh fairs are also held in Haridwar. Main places to visit in Haridwar are Har Ki Pauri, Mansa Devi Temple, Chandi Devi Temple, Bharat Mata Temple and many more.

How to reach :
Airport: The nearest airport to reach Haridwar is Jolly Grant which is located in Dehradun, the airport is 02 Hours away from Haridwar.

Railway Station: Haridwar itself has a railway station by the name of Haridwar Junction, but you can also go from Dehradun, Roorkee, Delhi to reach here. From Dehradun it takes only 2 hours to reach Haridwar and from Delhi it takes 04 to 05 hours.

Bus Stand: You can also reach Hardiwar from Delhi and Dehradun by Uttarakhand Roadways bus and private Volvo.

Sightseeing :

Har ki Paudi : Har Ki Pauri is a main pilgrimage site of Haridwar. There are many stories related to this place, one of which is that Lord Vishnu came to earth at this place and due to his feet falling here, this place was named Har Ki Pauri. The most important ghat of Har Ki Pauri is Brahmakund. The evening Ganga Aarti here is very popular among the devotees coming here.

Chandi Devi Temple : Chandi Devi Temple is one of the main temples of Haridwar, according to a story of Skanda Purana, it is believed that at this place, Shumbh Nishumbh's commander Chand Mund was killed by Goddess Chandi, hence this place was named Chandi Devi Temple. The climb here is more difficult than Mansa Devi but now you get trolley facility here which makes it easier for the devotees to travel.
