About Rishikesh :

Rishikesh is a very beautiful city situated on the banks of Ganga situated in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Rishikesh is made up of two words Rishik (senses) and Ish (God) which means God of the senses. Rishikesh is also called the Yoga Capital of the World and the gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas. Rishikesh is also the starting point of Chardham Yamnotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath of Uttarakhand. There are many places to visit here like Triveni Ghat, Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Parmarth Niketan and many more, there are also some waterfalls in Rishikesh which are the main attractions of the travelers coming here.

How to Reach :

Airport: The nearest airport to reach Rishikesh is Jolly Grant which is located in Dehradun, the airport is 40 minutes away from Rishikesh.

Railway Station: Rishikesh itself has a railway station by the name of Yoga Nagari, but you can also go from Haridwar, Dehradun, Roorkee, Delhi to reach here. From Haridwar it takes only 30 minutes to reach Rishikesh and from Dehradun it takes only 1 hour to reach Rishikesh and from Delhi it takes 04 to 05 hours.

Bus Stand: You can also reach Rishikesh from Delhi and Dehradun by Uttarakhand Roadways bus and private Volvo.

Sightseeing :

Triveni Ghat : Triveni Ghat is the main bathing place in Rishikesh, from here the river Ganga turns to the right. Many devotees take bath here in the morning during Brahma Muhurta. The Ganga Aarti held here in the evening is the main center of attraction for all the devotees. There is a 6500 kg bell in the Tara temple located in Mayakund at Triveni Ghat, which many devotees come to see.

Laxman Jhula : Laxman Jhula is a unique identity of Rishikesh, it connects one bank of river Ganga to the other, its length is 450 feet. It is said that Lakshman ji had made a jute swing at this place. If you stand in the middle of the swing, it appears to be shaking. Ram Jhula is also nearby. Another name of Laxman Jhula is Shivanand Jhula because it is built between Shivanand and Swarg Ashram.

Neelkanth Temple : Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is about 30 kilometers (1 hour) from Rishikesh. It is said that at this very place, Mahadev had consumed Halahal poison coming out of the churning of the ocean, due to which his throat had turned blue, hence this place is called Neelkanth Mahadev Temple.

River Rafting : River rafting is a very popular adventure activity in Rishikesh, the length of river rafting here is 9 Km. 12 Km. 16 Km. 24 Km. 32 Km. The price of river rafting varies during season and off season. You can also get video recording done during rafting as per your convenience.

Bunjee Jumping : India's highest bungee jumping is done in Rishikesh, there are 02 companies named Jumpin Heights and Thrill Factory in Rishikesh which do this. You can book Bungee Jumping as well as Zipline, Gaint Swing and Flying Ffox both online and offline.
